#14 - buy a really expensive, well-made pair of boots.

i have the boots i want in my mind..i'm still looking for them.. they are a dull lime green. or chocolate brown.

once i see them i know. it will be love at first sight, i'm certain.

until then...i search.. :)

not gonna lie..i love USA thanksgiving.. || vancouver wedding & portrait photographer

yes, yes i do.. why? cuz of black friday sales! :) and another reason to eat some MORE TURKEY!!! :) i wish that we (canadians) did thanksgiving like y'all do.. :) or at least took on some of the characteristics of it.. moving right along... ;)

my dear friend lani (follow her on twitter at: @prairiecitygirl) and i are going to make a girl trip south of the border..

first stop - thursday: portland! we're staying at this really funky heritage hotel downtown.

then friday we'll shop about and such and then head up to seattle and stay at our favorite b&b (musical house bed & breakfast) and do some more shopping on sat then head home.

ooooooooooo.. gotta love it. thank you america for being so close.. and thank you america for black friday sales. and thank you america for being our neighbors and friends. :)

THAT is truly something for a canuck to be thankful about! :)

bliss soap company - seattle, wa

a few seattle trips ago, with my dear friend jeanie, we happened upon this amazing little soap shop. we were overwhelmed with all the coolness that filled this shop!

we introduced ourselves to the owner, phil, and the rest is history.. :)

our family holiday i did a little "work" and took a visit to bliss to take photos of their new stock for their website.

not only do they make "regular" soap, but they have "food" soap, as you will see.. some are bathbombs, some are soaps, some are both..sooo creative!

and his wholesale end is BOOMING! he now makes bars for a major cruise line...30,000 bars every 4 months.. hello! can we say busy!? :) way to go phil!! :)

phil...your shop rocks..and you are such a great guy! sooo glad our paths have crossed. :)

our family vacay - day 2, part 1 - seattle

day two of our OR coast trip - seattle.

we woke up to a lovely, as always, breakfast at musical B&B. we packed up our stuff and headed to pioneer square, downtown seattle..the birthplace of the city.

we went on the 1.5 hr underground tour. i knew the kids and j would like it..i had been on it a year and a half ago with my friend erin on our BFF weekend to seattle.

it was a cool tour..even my junior high son said it was "ok"..which in junior high adolescents means that it was not bad. :)

our oregon coast trip - day 1 - seattle!

we left vancouver on friday july 10. we were going to be away til the evening of thursday july 16. how excited were we!?!? our FIRST family trip together! yes we have travelled thru canada and asia together to visit friends and family but we have never, just the 4 us, gone on a trip together. we were excited!

when we drove into seattle we checked in at my faithful b&b - musical house bed and breakfast - and was greeted by albert & barbara..they are so sweet and so accomodating. and their b&b is my FAVE. the only place i stay overnight at in seattle. :)

then we had to go explore. but first i had to go visit my dear friend phil from BLISS SOAP on broadway in seattle to shoot some of his stock for his website - those photos will follow!

had some burger goodness at dick's drive-in. good times my friends.. a must do whilst in seattle, the locals have told me.

we visited and shopped in and around the always fun and infamous pike place market. we visit there every time we stay overnight or drive thru..its just something we dont get sick of. we also found some quaint little shops there too that we'll definitely go back to!

and of course we HAD to go to a mariners game on the friday night, making our way down south! and for the record i LOVE ichiro. :)
