diedrich & margaret hit the beach! || seasoned love session - boracay, philippines || vancouver photographer

giggle..kind of a funny title no? it made me laugh out loud..not gonna lie. :)

we took grandpa and nanny over to the philippines with us in october for the 40th anniversary for mom and dad. they were troopers!

on the last night we were on boracay island, i thought it would be cool to get a few more shots of nanny & grandpa on the beach.

my second couple for my seasoned love session holds a special place in my heart - they are jonathan's grand parents from calgary. their story is so fascinating and full of faith. nanny, as we call her, went to work on grandpa's dad's farm..and the rest is history. :)

this is the first part of their session... the second part is coming... from the tropical island of boracay in the philippines. :)

if you are on facebook, you know that i was open for sessions while in manila, with all proceeds going to gentle hands mission .

i have known joray and mar before they were married... they got married just before rosie was born. :)

joey..he now goes by joe or joseph. but to me, he will ALWAYS be joey.
i have known joey for what seems like FOREVER.

joey was like my big brother when i lived in calgary, pre-marriage to jonathan.
joey was there the day we got married..he was there whenever we came thru calgary..and even tho we don't get to see each other often, it's like time has never passed.

joey ALSO married the lovely jhansy. :)

and when they asked if i had time to photograph them this trip, i was MORE than delighted. they ROCKED it!

great to see you guys..and yes, we won't wait so long for us all to get together. and we'll bring pickles... ;)

just gonna throw it out there:

i LOVE doing maternity sessions! i don't know if part of it has to do with the fact that i was a midwife for our time in the philippines and that i think that pregnant women hold such a regal beauty, or what but i LOVE photographing that season of life!

and i love that i love my work so much and my clients love my work and tell their FRIENDS about my work and then their friends contact me.

that's pretty much what happened with rebecca & jeff.. a word of mouth contact. :)
them's the best, me thinks. :)

so off to yaletown i went, on a not-as-hot-as-35-degrees day and got some great shots of the two! they made me giggle lots. :)

their little bundle is due at the end of the month..can't wait!

cory & brenda - eSession - calgary, AB || vancouver wedding photographer

i just have to say...i love my couples...as in the ones who commission me to photograph their wedding. they are always so great!

brenda and cory are no different! both of them are absolutely stunning and have so much fun with each other!

over dinner before our eSession i asked them the story of their relationship. all i gotta say is WOW! i told cory he had to write a book , "how to win the heart of your true love". he did the most creative and detailed proposal, from lots of roses, to strangers approaching brenda, to letters, to all the places they had significant moments. it was amazing!

so needless to say, we had much fun shooting their engagement session! we headed down to the warehouse district in downtown calgary..yes i have a THING for old buildings, ok!? ;)

can we say GORGEOUS!!?










can't wait to shoot their wedding on friday! you guys rock! :)

road trip - part 3

after we left parksville, we headed south for victoria. but not before we met up with tanya and her beau for coffee.
